I can't use any fonts?

Post questions on how to use or achieve an effect in Inkscape.

I can't use any fonts?

When I try to change the font it just goes back to 'Sans'.
This is that much of a big deal, as I can just add text in GIMP. But I was just wondering if there was a quick fix?

In the top navigation go to Text->Text and Font...

You can change the font in the Text and Font window that opens up.

I should have explained it better. I can see my font list, but everything except Sans is greyed out, I click on a font and try to type something and it just resets to Sans.

I've gotten this problem, too. You have to go to Text > Text and Font. In that window change the font and click apply. The drop down list on the left never works.
