How to apply a gradient to several objects.

Postby lunaprey » Sun Nov 03, 2013 5:24 pm

Hi everyone,

I'll start by introducing myself! My name is Luna. I'm 17 years old, and have a small web development company! I often use Inkscape to draw up layouts before making them with CSS. I thought I'd join this community to try to better by ninja Inkscape skills, so please bear with me!

So, as you hopefully can see from this picture, I have 3 circles with a gradient in them. What I'd like to do is apply the white to transparent effect on the inside of the circles so that it will look like light is hitting the back of the "tunnel".

Gosh, I hope I explained this okay! It's difficult to describe. I would like to create a very simple movie where the user moves through the circles, so I need them to have a shadow effect which will create a more 3d look!

Love,

Luna

Welcome aboard!

Hmm I have no idea how you want that to make up a 3D tunnel look.
Could you make another sketch or example of what you want to achieve?

Off topic:
Couldn't resist to think of la linea where simplicity works well, without any fancy gradients.

Filters/Ridges/* or
Filters/Bevels/Specular light

Each blue&black ellipse is duplicated and than fill was replaced with the radial gradient white to transparent.
Perhaps you`ll get even better results without the white ellipses, if you move the centre of the blue&black gradient in the same fashion as I did with the white. In that case, adding a one or two more colours to the gradient might even make it far more better ,)
:tool_zoom: <<< click! - but, those with a cheaper tickets should go this way >>> :!:
