New to Inkscape

Postby BumpGa » Fri Feb 08, 2013 3:48 am

Hello,

I am trying to design dirt bike graphics. I have a downloaded template. The template that I am using has multiple holes in the shroud piece. I want to do different shapes and strokes on the shroud graphic. Is there a way for me to lay a shape over the shroud and then "cut" out the holes or do I have to design the shape around the hole. In other words, when we print, the holes need to be blank.

This is the shroud piece with the multiple holes that I mentioned:

This is the shroud piece with a shape over it. I want the holes to be able to show through the shape (I want the the holes to show white):

I am new to Inkscape, so my question may be an easy answer :D

That is perfect! Thank you so much! And the Inkscape manual is now bookmarked and will be pulled up whenever I use the program! Thank you again!
