Hi,

Having some problems with loading some PDFs made from qGIS. The PDFs contain a base map, polygons, scale bar and legend all produced from qGIS. What happens when this image is imported into Inkscape parts of the image are not loaded and it says linked image not found. Why is this and do I can I do anything to fix this?

When you say "import" are you simply opening the PDF with Inkscape? If so, try opening Inkscape first then use File menu > Import. This will bring up a PDF Import Settings dialog. I'm not sure which settings would be the proper ones for you, but if this doesn't solve your problem, you could experiment with the settings.

If that's what you're doing already, then someone else will have to chime in. I know that the SVG to PDF export isn't fully supported by Inkscape, and some parts of an image might not appear in the resulting PDF (or are not displayed properly). But I don't know about importing PDFs. I'm guessing the same is true, that Inkscape doesn't yet support an ideal import.

Could be related to Bug #566444 in Inkscape: “load pdf: linked image not found” (earlier reports of the same issue: #490334, #231835).

Could you attach an example of a PDF file that exposes this error? This would allow further investigation (especially if you think it is different from what is described in the mentioned bug reports).
