Is this something I can do as a complete beginner?
Is this something I can do as a complete beginner?
I am in a bridal party, I tried to gracefully resign but was told I had to be in the wedding, so now I am having to help throw a bridal shower reasonably priced... Invitations I feel can be done nicely without spending a lot of money, I'm going to attach some images and want to know people's opinions on if these things are something that I could somewhat easily recreate and then have printed Maybe through vista print?

Re: Is this something I can do as a complete beginner?
Seems simple enough graphically, but it would depend on what format Vistaprint will print from without charging you for someone to convert it to their accepted format. Inkscape produces PDF and SVG easily. If Vprint wants 'Illustrator ai" or "Illustrator EPS" then you can't really do rhis with Inkscape.
Your mind is what you think it is.

A beginner can do wonderful things with Inkscape, as good or better than the above designs.
Some tips:
Depending on the theme of the event, you can find elements to scan/shoot at discount/bargain/craft/thrift stores.
Have fun with it, and feel free to come back for Inkscape related advise!
Some tips:
- Avoid too many different fonts ("font salad").
Don't use backgrounds or pictures that aren't explicitly free (stealing), but beware suspicious sites offering free everything wonderful.
Don't directly copy, but use others' designs as inspiration for your own designs.
Your public library may have a trove of crafting books and magazines for inspiration

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
