A larger version of my avatar picture ...
Unfortunately this doesn't look as nice with the 50x50 limitation on this forum, but this is a more elaborate version of the picture I usually use for my avatar on forums. In smaller versions it's just the gear & mask, without the feathers and blue background. I use this larger version for my desktop background.
The origami mask in the middle started out as an actual piece of origami that I folded and photographed, used Inkscapes bitmap tracing to make into paths, and then tweaked it's colors a bit.
Re: A larger version of my avatar picture ...
I really like the texturing on the mask and the blue feathers. I think a different background colour might help bring out those blue feathers--I almost didn't notice them.

Thanks
The white feathers have a similar texture, but since it's white on cream it's a little harder to make out.
The choice of blue for the background was so that it would work well for the desktop background on my work computer.
On my home computer, where I use Ubuntu, the background is transparent. I create an empty folder on the desktop, set it's icon to the .svg file, and stretch it as large as it will go. Then I can casually change the background whenever I like and still have the mask/gear/feathers as a predominate image on the desktop.

The texturing on the white feathers was a good call in my opinion.
It is one of those things that most people would not notice, but they would say that something didn't look exactly right without it.
Nice touch!
