Hi,

I'm completely new to inkscape, though I do have some experience in using other graphics applications (mainly gimp and photoshop). What I haven't found out yet is how to put text labels onto things like lines without having to type it with the text tool and fine adjusting it by hand. Is there even a better way?

Now I also wanted to put a mathematical vector into my image as a text label. So it's basically just a column of numbers/text surrounded by parenthesis. The tough thing is how to let those parenthesis span multiple lines of text. I can make both parenthesis in a larger font but they'll be too thick. I also tried playing around with curves but that's very messy too. Any better solution for this, too?
