Failed to Load the Requested File

Postby Referencecheck » Wed Apr 09, 2014 6:28 pm

Hey guys, I was working on this flyer using inkscape portable, but somewhere around my last save yesterday, the file got corrupted. I struggled for a bit after opening it in notepad, trying to get a grip on XML and such. After fiddling around with it, opening it in Word as well to try and find the error, I realise that Im totally lost with this huge pile of code. The SVG displays on a browser, though saving it from there to open, gets the same error message. I'd ask for how to properly close open string laterals, but I've got a deadline on the on the flyer pretty soon(Ignore the dates on the file, I was asked to repurpose it). So Im gonna post this link up of the corrupt svg, and cross my fingers that some kind soul will help me. Regardless of whether someone recovers the file for me, I'd like the main focus of this thread to be teaching me how to attempt to fix corrupted files myself in future. Im moderately desperate here, I really don't wanna do a vector trace of the saved bitmap, because that'll be a riot to clean up.

Hi.

Objects may miss from the svg at the background.

Added missing </g> and </svg> tags, and closed the chopped-in-half path.
The svg could be largely cleaned up though by deleting unnecessary objects.
Also now there are 25 def-s unused.
