Hello,
I'm using Inkscape 0.48.1 on Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit.
I noticed that in my Inkscape window, the Command Bar, the Snap Bar, etc. don't have handles. Therefore, I can't drag them to another position. What do I have to do for the handles to show up?
Thanks, maf
Missing handles in user interface
Re: Missing handles in user interface
Even if the handles are there (they usually are, AFAIK - do you use a custom gtk theme on your system?) - you can't rearrange the toolbars freely in Inkscape. The available options (3 predefined toolbar layouts) are at the bottom of the 'View' menu: Default|Custom|Wide.maf wrote:Therefore, I can't drag them to another position.

Re: Missing handles in user interface
Thanks for your help!
AFAIK, I'm not using a custom GTK theme. But I wouldn't know which software actually installed the libraries.
I tried Inkscape 0.48.2 on Ubuntu 11.10. There, the various bars have handles and I managed to tear them off and later place them back at the position predefined by the current layout.
I have to admit that I find the layout selection in the view menu somewhat a little bit confusing. It wasn't obvious to me that the last 3 items are actually alternatives. The use of dot to mark the current selection is conceptually different from the command specific icons of other menu entries.
