Hi -- Just started using Inkscape and have a bunch of basic questions. I searched on the boards here but didn't seem to find an answer to this one. Sorry if it's already been covered elsewhere.
My question: Can you do greenscreen work with Inkscape? In other words, I'd like to photograph an object (say a coffee cup) on a green background, then import the photo into Inkscape, and then convert the green background into a transparent screen. Can that be done? If so, how?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Welcome to InkscapeForum!
Hhhm, well it is definitely possible to achieve a transparent background with Inkscape. But for the method you describe, I think you'd probably be better off using a raster graphics editor.
To learn how Inkscape can achieve a transparent backgound, you could read an overview that I wrote, sort of a collection of tutorials regarding transparency, because we get a lot of questions about it. Although this is the first about the "greenscreen" technique, lol.

Blender is pretty well suited for that with compositing (I've done it myself). Photos or video. Should be a bazillion tuts online for it.
