Hi,

My ellipse tool (F5) has become a pie tool (circle is incomplete it's a 359,999999° one)
How do i get back to the original settings ?
I tried to move then begin and end cursor so that they overlap and disappear but it never happens ; I'm getting closer and closer of 360 but I never reach it

(other than editing the keys end and start in eventcontext[id="arc"] in .config/inkscape/preferences.xml )

The solution is to use ctrl when moving the cursor.
While ctrl is pressed the cursor move by 15° increment, so it's easy to get a 0/360° angle (= complete circle)

I'm not entirely clear what you're asking. But there are some buttons on the control bar where you can reset it to draw complete ellipses/circles, or wedges or arcs. You should not have to use the Ctrl key unless you need the 15 degree increments. (I wish I had a "degree" key!) (Or did you use a character map?)

Brynn's suggestion of the buttons in the control bar is the best way to go, IMO. However you can also SHIFT-click on the circular handles: it will have no effect on one of them*, but will switch back to ellipse mode when you shift-click the other.


* I consider the fact that this only works on one handle to be a bug, so I've filed a report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/968170

I didn't notice them
The full ellipse button did the trick
