Inkscape No Longer Natively Supporting EPS?

Just installed the latest Inkscape for leopard. I had been using Inkscape on 10.4 and it supported EPS files no problem, both open and writing. This new version of Inkscape seems to have lost that functionality. Anyone know what happened?

I found that topic previously. However, I have no extension-errors.log on my Mac. And after an hour of googling, Ghostscript can't be had for 10.5.2 on intel architecture.

Anyone found a solution?

It's not a solution, rather a work around, but you can convert an EPS to PDF and then edit the PDF.
