Hi
I got a PM from a forum member asking for some of my example SVG files from this post; viewtopic.php?f=30&t=13203#p50326
The SVG files are no longer accessible on the forum.
The message displayed on the page: " The extension svg has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed."
Why are the SVG files no longer visible/available on the forum? Why has it been deactivated? Will it ever be "re-activated"?
A lot of my posts contains SVG examples, the "usefulness" of the post are diminished without the example SVG files.
I can edit my posts with links to my dropbox if the forum can no longer support SVG files.
(Whoa - Inkscape forum without SVG support!! )

Re: SVG files on forum.
Hi.
I see it working in other topics so maybe it is now set only in some sections only.

Off topic:
I'm preparing to move on with that topic soon after finishing a bunch of graphics visualizing the main shape more.Re: SVG files on forum.
They are back. SVG uploads haven't been allowed in all forum categories, and I'm a little surprised that had been allowed at some point for the 'Off topic' forum.
It would be nice to allow unlimited image attachments everywhere, but I can't offer a lot of storage. There is an allocated amount of space per user. If it's exceeded, the user has to delete some of their attachments. Which means visitors will lose access to them. So I prefer if people use other websites to host their files and link to them from here.

Re: SVG files on forum.
Anyone is welcome to use Inkscape Community Gallery to host and display images, raster and SVG alike.
Unfortunately, there's a problem with the display of SVGs in the gallery (they get cropped). I hope someone can fix it before too long. But the full size image is fine, and once it's uploaded, the URL can be used to link.
If you don't necessarily want to display your images in the gallery, you can make your album private, and no one but you (and admin, i.e. me) will know they're there. But they still are displayed if you use the URL to embed or insert anywhere else (like in a message, for example).
Maybe an option if you've exceeded your limit here, or want to share in a board where file uploads aren't allowed
