You can search for info here or post new questions and comments at I downloaded the newest version of Inkscape this afternoon and am having trouble with the erase tool. I have a drawing saved as an inkscape svg file. When I try to erase something, nothing happens. I see the eraser's path (in red) but when it disappears, the item I want to erase is still there. HELP!!!!

It doesn't work on groups - you have to either ungroup first or enter the group with <Ctrl>+click or double-click.
