I've seen tutorials showing how to warp text using Path>Path Effects Editor (Shift+Cnt+7). It's what I want to use but I can't access this function with either of my Inkscape versions - v 0.91 r and 0.91 r13725
In my versions, I don't get the "Editor" - both paths lead to only Path Effects, not Path Effects Editor. I've tried an extension -Bezier Envelope- which did get me a similar effect. In fact it could do more but it stopped working within a day. Plus I couldn't find a way to install it into the later version at all.
Why is this not available in the later version and how can I get this older feature to work in my versions? Or is there a different way to warp text in v 0.91?
Warping Text
Re: Warping Text
Hi.
Maybe there are some hint on it here.
Also there was a fish-shaped text discussion somewhere?
About the right extension I'm not sure, maybe 0.92's lattice deform 2 lpe will be the best to use?

Re: Warping Text
"Path Effects..." IS the Path Effects Editor. I think they dropped the "Editor" at some point, for some reason. But a lot of people still call it that.
It works a little differently than the old version. Maybe because it looks different, you didn't recognize it. Just click the big + button to choose which effect you want.

Re: Warping Text
Brynn, [strikeout]the options under Path Effects is quite different and does not include the warp function. That's why I raised the question here. [/strikeout]
I have just spent half an hour doing screenshots to show what I meant, then suddenly saw that my problem was that I was using Bend in the v 0.91 but not Bend in v 0.48!! What I was looking for was Envelope Deformation and you are absolutely correct, it is available in both versions.
I apologise for taking up your time and thank you for the help.
BTW where do I set to have automated notice that I have had replies? Even just now when I was coming in to manually check, there was a notice saying there were 0 replies but when I got here, there are actually two replies.

When you're reading the topic, it's near the bottom, left. It's a checkmark icon beside text "Subscribe topic". I think it confuses a lot of people, because they see it checked, and think they're already supposed to receive notifications.
