auto/batch copy fill to stoke colour

Postby p33l » Tue Jun 22, 2010 6:22 am

Hi all,

i have a vectored/traced face which has a lot of detail. Ideally I want to keep as much detail as possible. however when i zoom out i can see that there is a potential issue with gaps where there is no stroke. So i want to change the stroke from no colour or black to the colour of the current fill. Is there a batch process or script that will copy the fill colour to the stroke colour?

also whilst i have 3gb ram this is slowing the machine down - and i havent even started on the blurs yet ( if only inkscape was xara speed - no i am not a developer and no i dont understand the complexities of the statement i just made - i am a dreamer who dares to dream that a tool i love so much could improve that little bit more). How do i optomise the drawing - Ctl-L justs rounds the parts of the face and gives a cute little baby a look that the parents would not appreciate - however much i point out the funny side of it!!

thanks in advance for help

Jason

editted to provide much more detail and thus hope for some help

I can't help you with a script, but want to comment on the performance issue.

It's in the plans. Maybe not soon, but a well-known issue that's set to be addressed. I read about it somewhere, but unfortunately, can't remember where :(

To reduce the filesize, you can try File menu > Vacuum Defs. This will remove all sorts of things that you may have created, but did not use, gradients for example. But be forewarned that if it's not being used in the image at the time you click Vacuum Defs, it will be gone for good. You can't undo it. I usually only use it when I'm finished with an image, but in your case, with probably a huge file size, this will help. I suppose if you have gradients or whatever that you don't want to lose, you could save them in another doc temporarily??
