Glyph panel in .92?

Postby cleversomeday » Sun Jan 29, 2017 2:43 am

Has anyone got the glyph panel working in Ink .92? This is the feature I am most looking forward to, but haven't actually seen it in action yet. Pasted below is the blurb from the release notes. How would one go about linking Inkscape to a recent version of the Pango library if that is what is required? Thanks!

"Font Features
It is now possible to take advantage of OpenType tables to select alternative glyphs from a font. For this, a third tab ('Variants') has been added to the 'Text and Font' dialog. Note that browser support is still limited. Inkscape must also be linked with a recent version of the Pango library."

Yes, it's just a new tab in the text+font dialog. It works, but it's difficult to find out if a font you have installed supports it.

Unfortunately, you can't see if it will work when you change the settings, you do it blindly, then apply, and either it looks different, or not...
