Text and overlapping with Pen

When using the pencil tool (to draw freehand lines) :tool_pencil:

the overlapping areas become white/transparent, as seen in the screenshot. Is there a way to automatically fill this area black.

In the Fill and Stroke dialogue there are two icons that control this, you should recognize them when you see them

It remembers your last choice, so you should already be set
