Making a svg-file of a jpg-file

Postby Amadeus12 » Wed Nov 16, 2011 4:33 pm

I have used the tool Trace Bitmap in the past quite succesfully in the past to make a conversion. But now I try to make a conversion of this file:
http://s938.photobucket.com/albums/ad223/flyingdutchman12/?action=view&current=Airbus_A400M_03.jpg

This is of course for wikipedia. When I use Trace Bitmap/Colors I get an almost exact replica of the file:
http://s938.photobucket.com/albums/ad223/flyingdutchman12/?action=view&current=Airbus_A400M_03.jpg

Almost exact but for one thing: the colors are faded. Can this be solved? How do you solve this?

When I've had this problem in the past, I've found that increasing the number of scans can help. How many scans did you use? I think the default is 8. Assuming that's what you used, try doubling that, say to 15 to 20. Any better?

could you include a copy of the faded SVG for us to compare?

Thanks.

You were right, Brynn. I increased the number of scans (20). This is the result. Near perfection: http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/ad223/flyingdutchman12/Germanplane20.png
