Steps/whole numbers/coordinates

Postby Lars » Thu Aug 13, 2009 7:51 pm

Inkscape is a great tool, but this has been annoying me for pretty long and I can't find a solution. :x

Inkscape always puts objects to strange coordinates like 312,978px or 560,314px. Those are annoying because you can't align anything correctly and everything is blurred.

How can I set it to whole numbers/steps only? So it will only be 313px and 560px. Correcting the decimals by hand takes too long every time. So when dragging with the mouse it goes to whole numbers/pixels (not with keyboard).

Set a 1x1 pixel grid, and set everything to lock to that.

Also, look at my post here:

I still don't get it and it still does not work.

I set all steps in options to 1 px. All of them. How do you lock it? I don't want that silly "stick" tool, it's annoying and does not work.

When I create a box :tool_rectangle: it still goes to 850,184 and stuff like that, it's getting annoying, there should just be a simple on/off option for.

Which version of Inkscape are you using?

I just tried with 0.47pre , and some snap settings have moved from "Document Properties" to the new "Snap Control" toolbar. So (on the toolbar) you need to make sure both "Enable Snapping" and "Snap To Grids" are set, as well as creating a 1x1 pixel grid in Document Properties.
