Cutting an ellipse into 3 sections

Postby dmc68 » Mon Feb 07, 2011 6:57 am

Hello everyone, what I would like to do is take an ellipse and cut it into 3 equal shapes. What I am trying to do is recreate the radiation symbol. If anyone could tell me the steps to do this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Dave

Here is a link to what I am talking about.

I would make one part, duplicate it twice, and use Object->Transform... Rotate to turn it exact 60 and -60 degrees. Of course, I would move the centre of rotation to the centre of the circle so I wouldn't have to mess with it later.
