edit individual text clones

Postby 1ko » Mon Mar 05, 2012 6:24 pm

Hello,

I have a text object cloned several times, I want to edit each clone's text individually while keeping the possibility to populate styles applied to the original. Is it possible?

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

No, that's not possible. But you might be able to use Paste Style instead (Edit menu). You would have to type all the unique text objects. Then highlight the original which has the style you want (color, transparency, stroke width, etc) and Copy. Then select each text object....or if they are all to have the same style, then select all the text objects and click Edit menu > Paste Style. There's a keyboard shortcut, but no control bar button. Please see the Edit menu to learn the shortcut, or look up the key reference in the Help menu.
