Arbitrary raster shaping

Postby Unlo4 » Sat Sep 06, 2014 11:30 am

Is it possible to do this with a raster image inside a 4-node path:

Image

My sense of perspective sucks, so I'd like to reshape a raster into a perspective-shaped path, even if just for manually tracing over it. Although if it could stay in the final SVG, I wouldn't argue...

Hi.

Inkscape has a perspective extension to distort paths that way.
With a raster images?
No way, the image itself needs to be distorted too for the effect.
Gimp can do that.

So you may trace the raster part roughly and run the extension.
(On a side note, stroke widths are discarded, they won't be thinner near the vanishing point.)

If it's for a 3D appear, you can use transformation to achieve parallel projected or axonometric look, with raster images.
