two finger scroll with the synaptics touch pad

How can i get two finger scroll to work in Inkscape. I have a PC with a Synaptics touchpad and the two finger scroll works in other apps.

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

I actually have a Synaptics touchpad, on my laptop. And even though I don't use it, I have looked in the settings, and don't see anything called a 2 finger scroll. Can you explain what it is?

I am guessing it is similar to what Apple uses or this forum thread /project.

Hhm...based on tomh's comments, I'm guessing it won't be possible. The touchpad that I do use offers functionality that I can use in other programs, but that don't work with Inkscape (horizontal scrolling, for example). Maybe someone else will have more info?

Both had been reported for Inkscape some time ago:

No horizontal scrolling with touch pad: No scrolling at all with touch pad:

There is no additional information available (is it a bug in Inkscape, in the GTK+ toolkit, or …?), nor any known workarounds
