how to move two paths simultaneously?

Postby perdidohate » Tue Nov 06, 2012 10:46 am

Hi to all,
I have two paths thats shares one border. I had to move them simultaneously(ok, i have to move the double nodes that are on the same point but in two different tracks in another same point). i try with shift+click on both of them, alt+click to select the bottom path and sometimes it happens to move correctly, i've don't understanded precisely when. But when i successfully move both nodes at once i still can't move both the bezier handles as one. Is it possible? Or maybe i just choose the uncorrect method?

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

I'm not sure if I understand you problem. Try this, but if it doesn't work, tell us why, and we'll move on from there. Select both objects, then with the Node tool, drag a selection box around the 2 nodes on one end of the shared line. Then hold Shift, and drag a selection box around the other 2. Now that shared line can be moved together. When you do that, the bezier curves will stay the same -- in between the nodes. The handles of those shared nodes stay the same between the pairs of nodes, but depending on what direction you move the shared border, the handles on the outside of the pair of shared nodes might change.

If that doesn't quite answer your question, maybe a screenshot would help. Let us know :D
