Hello! I have Inkscape on my home and work computer and when I use the pattern fill, they behave differently. On my home computer (v 0.48.5), when I have a pattern in a rectangle and shrink it in half, the pattern auto-adjusts to the new shape size:



My work computer also had v 0.48.5 until today when I upgraded to 0.91. With both versions, when I resize a pattern in a rectangle, the pattern shrinks or expands with it.



Another issue with my work computer version is that when I started with a rectangle with the stripe pattern fill and then resized it, the stripes don't line up across all of the shapes (whereas on my home computer, they do line up)



From reading the 0.91 release notes, it says "Bug fix: Pattern fills (no more gaps between tiles, regardless of transformation)". I read that as my issue in the 3rd picture, where the stripes don't line up shape to shape because I transformed it, is a bug and has been fixed. Which makes me think that my work computer is the bug-y version and my home computer is rendering correctly.

My first question is if I am interpreting that right. And then, assuming I am, does anyone have any ideas of why the new version (on my work computer) is still acting up? I'm wondering if there's a setting I missed or something. Or is my work computer version operating correctly? I tried googling but am having trouble finding the right words to search for to get helpful results.

Try the pattern fill transform effect icon :

If you want a Pattern to transform with an object, you must toggle on this option using the icon that is in the Tool Controls when the Select Tool is in use.
