I feel like I'm about to pull my hair out and am just missing a checkbox or something simple.
I have a Graphtec plotter that I use Inkscape with. I make images and use the "trace bitmap" options to create vectors. I can then click print and choose my plotter and it cuts no problem. I've been doing this for months without issues.
My problem lies in trying to use as much of the vinyl as possible. For example, I have a roll of vinyl that is 24" long and I set my document properties to 24". I expect, at the very least I could get pretty close to this. Even if I had a 1" margin on either side I would be fine. The problem is that I cannot find any rhyme or reason to why only have of my image traces. I'm wasting a ton of vinyl and don't know how to fix this. Please help.
I've searched the forum and internet over and over again with no success in solving this problem. Thanks in advance.

Aligning Graphtec Plotter with Inkscape
Re: Aligning Graphtec Plotter with Inkscape
I'm new also with Inkscape and Graphtec, but we discovered that you MUST set your MAXIMUM ever length in the plotter or every plot that exceeds that will get cut off. THe max is 130". It doesn't cut it all, but allows up to 130"

And it sounds like that is a setting that is on the plotter itself? I'm going to go play with it and see if it changes anything. I basically got to the point where I created a vector grid in inkscape of 1" boxes to find out where it was and was not cutting. I'm wasting almost 12" of vinyl on a 24" roll.

No one else out there having a similar problem? If someone knows another source or forum, I'd love to reach out to anyone who can help me solve what seems to be such a simple issue.
Thanks in advance.
