I have installed some clip art images and do not understand where they are located to be selected to be used.
Thanks,
Tim
Newbie Question - Selecting Clipart
Re: Newbie Question - Selecting Clipart
Are you sure that you actually 'installed' the clip-art and not just saving them to the PC?
Easiest way to find out where they are is to repeat the operation and pay notice to where they are saved.
To open them in Inkscape you'll need to use "Import bitmap"
If I have misunderstood you I'm sure that others would like to know which operating system you use.

Janne,
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I'm sure they were loaded as the text fonts I downloaded the same day, I can find in the text field.
Maybe I should clarify, I don't know which menu/tool item I select to access them.
I'm using Inkscape v. 0.48/Win 7-32-bit/Intel i5

Re: Newbie Question - Selecting Clipart
First of all I have never 'installed' cliparts. I have installed brushes and shapes for Photoshop and fonts that go into the font folder in Windows.
Would it be possible for you to find the clipart and download it again to find where it goes? Otherwise you'll have to go to your browser's settings and chose the folder you download to.
In Inkscape you have to go to File - Import and then choose whether you wish to embed the file or just link to it. Linking to it will remove the clipart in your file if you move it to another folder/directory.

Re: Newbie Question - Selecting Clipart
Bingo! File>Import. Took me directly to the folder and I am able to select the desired clip art!
Thank you, Janne!!!
