Someone on wikimedia commons has requested a redraw of a map. It is now a png-file and it must become a svg-file.

Simply use the paint bucket ! That will be even more precise than tracing the picture with its colors. You may also import the original bitmap and copy each color with the Color picker before filling the corresponding surfaces with the paint bucket.
