You know it's bad to drink lots of them, but the occasional Soda Bug will certainly do you no harm! Canned at the source, with naturally fizzy water from the Inkscape runtime hot springs, these caffeinated bugs are a nice pick-me-up when dealing with Inkscape's sometimes slow behaviour.

First discovered 2019-04-10 10:10 by: cameralibre

Seasoned with 23 different secret spices (and a pinch of salt), the Fried Chicken Bug is an Inkscape special recipe. It roams its greasy, wobbly way through late night coding sessions, when you've had maybe a bit too much to drink, and just want something filling and savoury to munch on... Or maybe that's just me. Dang, I'm really hungry!

One should definitely wear thick boots when trudging through Cactus Bug country! Another denizen of the Inkscape Code Comment Desert, some are tall, some are short, but all are quite prickly! This one comes in a nice clay pot and would look smashing on a sunny window sill or desk. Play it some chilled out country folk music to keep it from wandering away.

First discovered 2019-04-11 16:04 by: mray

On. Off. On. Off... On... On... Off... On! Behold the binary Inkscape Lightbulb Bug. They can be seen flashing on and off to eachother in the caves of the Western LPE Mountains. They also take to following users around at night and can be helpful to randomly light the path through Inkscape's codebase when no other ilumination is available. They do however keep campers up, so make sure to snag a blindfold bug along the way.

There's something wrong, and you can't put your finger on it. No really, you can't! Because your mouse has scurried off the canvas again! Must be a Mouse Bug! Unlike some modern desktop rodentia, the Mouse Bug is completely wireless now, which is a good thing. Lest we forget the great Mouse Bug cable tangle of the 90s. Now all you have to do is worry about keeping them charged up, poor things!

Need a cork screw? How about a very small blade? Maybe a pair of Scissors with a grip too small for your fingers? No? Yea, no one does really. But that doesn't stop us from loving the Penknife Bug! It's not good for doing anything useful, but it's there if you someday need it, and will get in your way when you don't. It's not a cloud, it's someone else's computer! Well, this is actually a cloud bug, which IS on your computer, floating through the skies over the Inkscape canvas, drifting lazily about and alighting sometimes on the steep cliffsides of the dialog panel. Repeated attemps to catch all of them ultimately failed, as they instinctivly banded together and rained all over the giant vacume cleaner.

Time to wake up, it's an 80's Alarm Clock Bug! Famous for scurrying away just as you try to shut them off, these bugs make a truly horrific electronic screetching noise at regular intervals. No one's going to get any sleep with an infestation of these things around, so it's good they are being migrated to GitLab, where someone will be around occasionally to reset them after the power goes out.

(Domumcimex gingiberi)

+85 BUG POINTS

Number of Gingerbread House Bugs found so far:
15
First discovered 2019-04-09 21:05 by: mray

Rumour has it that these Inkscape Gingerbread House Bugs wait until the holiday season is over and adopt all the left over gingerbread houses as homes, much like hermit crabs do with seashells. After months on the shelf, no one is going to be eating these anyway. Too bad there are no Xmas tree bugs to haul away the needle-shedding mess on the sidewalk!

(Vicuscimex sharpicus)

+90 BUG POINTS

Number of Crystal Bugs found so far:
12
First discovered 2019-04-11 13:41 by: mray

Take a ride (on the wild side?) in the saddle of a "Motorcycle Bug"! It's the leader of the pack, and it doesn't mind revving the engine a bit to show it. Really, you haven't lived until you've seen one do doughnuts with the back wheel spinning. I love the smell of burning rubber! The front legs do just get in the way though.

VEE DOUBLEYOU BUG

The ultimate bug for long distance migration road-trips. This one is as stylish as it is creepy with white go-fast racing stripe and classic white-wall tires. Be sure to strap a surf-board to the top of it for when you get to the Ocean of Commented-Out Code. Holiday selfie with the Vee Doubleyou Bug is of course, mandatory.
