Nice!
He has to walk around like that, to keep the pants from falling down, haha. Is that a bedroll around the backside area?
Yes, it is. Sometimes I add backpacks, sometimes bedrolls, and sometimes both. After all, even if you're a raging (skinny) barbarian you'll probably want some comfort at night LOL
I zoomed in, to see if that little mark on the knee was some kind of logo or symbol. And doing that, I saw all the detail of the clothing, which you don't really see without zooming. Particularly, I noticed how you actually made...well it's not just pleats in the pants, where the leg folds are (near the crotch), instead of just bunched up or wrinkled fabric! They look like sort of a combination of pleats and inset plackets. And also the texture -- I guess that's corduroy (sp?).
So suddenly I realize among your many skills, you apparently take more interest in clothing and clothing style and construction, than most people. Have you ever seen pants like that? Maybe a new style in Europe that I haven't seen yet? Or just dreamed up? In reality, I suspect the plackets would make wearing the pants uncomfortable. But it does look kind of cool. Those shoes are super cool too!
The thing on the knee is just a randomly placed hole. I usually put these things on armor and more sturdy materials in general, not so much on fabrics. Here's an
example. The texture, I don't know. Maybe it's corduroy.. or maybe it's just my habit of using the basic line pattern a lot.
As for the overall pants design/style, no, I don't think there's a trend going on. If there was, this would be a huge coincidence because I'm pretty much the last person to know of new trends going on (clothes and otherwise). Nowadays I tend to draw rather basic, casual clothing. In the past I did a lot more crazy stuff with clothing and -especially- armor; more layers, more details, more useless stuff like bands and rings and such. I still use such elements, just not as much as I used to. And normally there isn't really a direct inspiration. I just put stuff together in a rather haphazard way. I do have a friend who studied fashion design though - but that's about as close as I get to the whole fashion style thing LOL
I wish I could fire up the website team, to put more graphics on the site. We really should get all the best Inkscape artists, to be involved with that. But I can't seem to get anyone interested. I suspect it's a case of "if we can't do it in some certain awesome way, we don't even try". And so we wait, until someone does it some certain awesome way.... Well, I saw something about a discussion of website redesign at the next hackfest. So maybe it won't be too much longer
I don't really keep up with what's going on on the website (and the internet and world in general LOL). I haven't looked into the gallery section, the Finished works section of the forum however isn't very active. It's mainly me and Lazur dropping in with some crazy (in a good way) filter stuff every now and then. The facebook group is quite active though, with people posting finished works as well as questions and problems. Seems that these days this is the more popular approach than a website/forum. Speaking of which, are you guys in this group as well? I'm just wondering if maybe we've even been talking there without me realizing.. you know, real names vs. forum nicknames.
Anyway, another fantastic image
Thank you very much! *bows*
