Yeah, I've never heard of it, which doesn't necessarily mean it's not good.  But I think it's always a good idea to use a well known, and hopefully highly   rated security suite.  One of the first things I did was look it up.  But from the first page of search results, the only negative thing I found was that it's hard to uninstall.  Similar to Norton/Symantec, (apparently) it buries some files deep, deep in the system, and as soon as you remove them, the reinsert themselves.

Since we aren't exactly security experts here, I realize you might not want to take our word for it.  But I could refer you to a good, independent security-related forum (or 2 or 3).  One frustrating thing about them, is that they won't give direct advice (for some reason, apparently they fear....well, I assume it's some kind of lawsuit, although I don't really see how they could be held legally responsible).  But they can help guide you to make your own choice about a good security suite, and you can also pick up a lot of info by browsing the forums.  Because while they won't give direct advice, you can pretty much tell how they lean, by their offhand comments.

0.92.1 is released!

Release notes: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Release_notes/0.92.1

If you're using 0.92, then I'd strongly recommend that you update, as the version fixes a couple of line-height related issues (and if you're on Windows, then you'll get some fewer crashes!)

The new pre point release, 0.92.2pre0, is available, and developers are asking Windows users in particular, to test.

source package:  https://inkscape.org/en/gallery/=inkscape-package/0922pre0/

Windows packages:  https://inkscape.org/en/~eduard.braun/galleries/inkscape-0922pre/

Here's a quote from the message to the mailing list:

Quote (selected)
Bryce just released the source tarball for the 0.92.2 pre-release (see
above), the final release is to be expected around Aug 7th.

I want to invite you all to test the pre-release. Especially the builds
for Windows should receive some extensive testing as I switched the
build system for this release (it's now built with MSYS2 instead of our
custom-built devlibs for those interested in the details).

Overall this should result in less bugs, some additional features and
maybe even slightly improved performance, but - as with all fundamental
changes - it might have introduced regressions we're not aware of.
Therefire please let me know if you find any new issues that might block
this release (we'll fall back to the way we built Inkscape before in
this case).

A full set of Windows builds (7z, exe, msi - x86/x64) is available from:
https://inkscape.org/en/~eduard.braun/galleries/inkscape-0922pre/

Here's how you can make your voice heard by developers:  https://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php?topic=627.0  (maybe I should copy that message into this board too?)

Oh, Apophysis!  Is that project still actively supported and/or developed?  I really, really enjoy fractals and tesselations, but had forgotten about them, since most of my favorite programs lost their only support some years ago.  Apophysis was not my favorite, but it was the last one I heard of still being supported.

It would be Awesome to have a fractals tool in Inkscape!  Preferably one which can be easily used by people who aren't mathematically inclined.  I guess either Parametric Curves or Function Plotter extensions could make fractals, if you know the right equations or formulas.  But I'm not positive about that.

Oh, and there's also the L-System extension, which is in fractals and tesselations family.  But like those other 2, you need to know the right formulas, to really enjoy it.

Oh, and there are a couple of new LPEs - Mirror Symmetry and Rotate Copies can sort of approach making fractals.  You should be able to find videos either on the website, or search jabiertxof's YT channel.

There is a chamfer LPE which....the last I heard is coming up in version 0.93.    However, I think of chamfer as something different from fractals and tesselations.  There will be a video of that too, in jabier's collection.  Some are on the Inkscape website and some are only on YT.

Edit
Amaziograph sounds  interesting, but apparently only available for iPad?  Makes it hard to even show developers what you're asking.  So if you could find something for PCs, it might help to get your ideas across.

Yes, please contact  if you know some developers.

No, it's not unfortunately. Which favorite one one did you use ?

Oh no. I posted some time ago https://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php?topic=554.0 .
I was really hoping it would make official in new release.

Here are some examples videos for Amaziograph:

Yes, it's only for iPAD. For PC similar is this:
http://permadi.com/java/spaint/spaint.html
Click on the pattern below and drag the mouse.

Could you suggest developers to implement such tool for creating paths and paterns in Ink? The idea is on simiplifying the UI so that user do not rely on menus constantly.

Also, I don't know if this exists. If you duplicate one object and move it for some units, is there a shortcut for repeat last action ? So, you can create pattern faster. Also, if you create a row of objects and duplicate them, repeat last action shourtcut can produce it faster than going in the UI menu.

I think these are enough requests by me today.  :-D

Amaziograph?

Cloning could do the job in inkscape for a long time -but now it's even easier with the new lpe-s mirror symmetry & rotate copies.

The message I gave you a link to tells you how to contact developers and make feature requests.  I could not make the requests for you, because when they ask me questions about what you want, I wouldn't know how to answer.  You need to make the request yourself.

Re permipad, that looks like more of a raster-based app, which wouldn't work for Inkscape.  Was that you who showed me a page....I think it works by javascript, where you can make symmetrical abstract designs?  Let's see if I can find that link....

Hhm, no luck.  Let me search and I'll post as soon as I find it.

I was trying to remember the name of my favorite fractal program, but I just don't remember it.  I have some files saved somewhere.  It's hard to label those little usb drives, and I've got a small pile of them now.  The ones I like the most are the ones where they draw the fractals for you, and you just search around, zooming all over the place and when I would find a nice section, I would save it as an image.  The ones where you have to know the right formulas and equations aren't as fun for me.

I just remembered something you might like, as far as being able to draw a line and make a kaleidoscope type of drawing.  Check out this message, and follow the link to their site.  It's fun!  And it's SVG!

What is the roadmap for next version ?
Will Inkscape change core rendering engine in future to be able to utilize the power of CPU and GPU?
On Nvidia there is CUDA and on AMD there is OpenCL.

As far as I know there is no intention of adding gpu support -the only part utilizing that is rendering Gaussian blurs.
Switched to the current cairo in 0.91, so probably it won't be changed in the near future.
Only developers can tell for sure.

As far as I know somewhere around the spring -there will be a hackfest in March so probably not before that?
On a side note the latest dev versions are up to date with available windows standalone versions.
There probably won't be any extra bits added in just it may be more stabile -buggy parts leaved out?
Check them out here.

(tags for future: development, build, standalone, executable, linux, installer, windows, version, ubuntu, trunk)
