First off let me apologize for my mediocre English (not my native language)

I have been designing 3D models for years in solid modelers and vector graphics software is a whole new thing to me. Even simple boolean operations have completely different names and I have to try each and everyone until I find the one I want.  :( Anyway, I guess time and practise will sort out this minor issue .

I was trying to post a question, but I couldn't upload a "bmp" explaining my case. The message in preview window was "you are not allowed to view pictures". Do I have to reach a number of posts before I can upload pics or am I doing something wrong?

thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

Aah, you seem to have encountered, possibly, two different issues.  One is that attachments don't show up in  the message Previews, and instead of the image, it displays a message about not having permission to see the image  (or something like that).  So if you were looking at a preview, that might explain the problem.  If you had gone through and posted the image, you would probably see it.

However, the reason I say probably, is because I'm not positive what you mean by "bmp".  We don't allow images with BMP extension (or format or file type or mime) only because they tend to be so very large.  But a lot of people use "bitmap" to mean "raster".  And we do allow all the other usual raster formats, such as JPG, PNG, GIF.

If it was truly a BMP image, and you don't have any other options available, just let me know, and I can allow BMPs.  Otherwise, if you can save it in a different format (like JPG or PNG), without going to a lot of trouble....and you can just ignore the preview and post the message, the image should show up as expected.

That's interesting that 3D programs use different terminology for booleans.  I wonder why?

Well anyway, let me know if you can't use a different raster format, and I'll allow BMP formats  :)

Thanks for the reply brynn.
It was the first issue. Preview won't show attachments. And you are right. It wasn't a bmp it was a png.
Anyway, I uploaded my first ever question with an attatchment without any problems. No need to allow BMPs.

Oh good, love those simple solutions!

Coincidentally, I just noticed your avatar image, and at this moment, there's a [sports shoe brand] cross fit competition on tv.  They are lifting the weights, then they drop them (not sure what makes them bounce!), then they do what we used to call squat-thrust, jump over bar, do another squat-thrust, repeat a few times, roll it down the lane, and do another set of repetitions, then lifting the weights again, then they walk a few steps with the weight still lifted, drop, bounce, and start the squat-throust series again.  And they go all the way down the lane, switching back and forth (12 to 15 lanes of competitors).  Wow, didn't know there were so many female weight-lifters too!  Then there's another competition where they walk on their hands, up some little stairs, back down, then lifting weights, then back to walking on hands, and back and forth, all the way down the lane.  Never saw anything like that before - kind of makes me tired just watching - but still, wish I could do it!

I gave up HIIT long time ago. I try to keep my insulin levels low and I'm fit and with good mood. I lift 3-4 days a week.
My ancestors used to say "Νους υγιής εν σώματι υγιεί" meaning you can't have a healthy mind in a sick body.
I follow their advice to the letter :)
