Hi Friends,
This will be an on-going topic, to both give credit for the current Featured Image, on the front page of the gallery, and by default, it will keep a history of them as well.

Actually, I just made a change to the gallery front page, so the Featured Image's title and author appear below the image.  And now you can click on the image, and be linked to the artist's album (wherever the artist originally uploaded it).  But I still thought it would be nice to keep a record here, and to congratulate the artists.

Although it's been changed since then, the first image was spaventapasseri's Watch 2011.

Now, it's Lazur's bus? mask.  (Sorry I couldn't get the accented ? to appear on the front page, because it needs a special code for the html, and I don't know what it is.)

And probably I'll be changing it again pretty soon.  And after this, we'll have the dates the images were displayed as Featured Images, because each new featured image will be credited in this topic, with a new reply, each time it's changed.  Generally, I've been changing it every 6 months.  But once the gallery gets bigger and more popular,  we may change it more often.

Another thing we may do in the future, is have the image ratings determine the Featured Image.  But we'll need more members participating in the gallery (uploading their own images, and rating other members' images), for that to really work.  So time will tell  :)

Congratulations to the first 2 Featured Image artists, and to all those who will be appearing in the future!

I've just changed the featured image on the gallery front page.  I chose Ragnar's....actually I can't remember what those things are called....electronics card or board?  Anyway, it's a unique drawing, and shows how Inkscape can be used for more than just artwork.  I remember admiring it when he first posted it at IF, so I'm happy we can use it for the gallery front page, for the next little while.  :D

Hi Friends,
New Featured Image on the front page of the gallery.  Lazur's "circle involute spirals" image (from the poster contest).

Congratulations, and thanks, Lazur  :D
