I don't know if you intended this.  But it looks just like one of those.... I guess is sort of a toy.  I remember seeing them beside the cash register at lunch diners, when I was a kid.  Maybe they were some promotional gimmick by a salesman or supplier for the restaurant, I'm not sure.

It bends at the "hips", where the blue and white "wings" are.  And there's a glass or bowl of water in front of it, and it's weighted so that it bobs up and down, looking like it's taking a drink.  I guess it was sort of perpetual motion thing, because if it wasn't broken, it would bob up and down forever.

Very nice work too!!  Maybe I'll switch out the front page of the gallery.  Just kind of a fun image for a while!

Edit
Hah!  But Wikipedia says not perpetual motion  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drinking_bird

Yes, that was intentional. Even got one of those.

glass pack

This one has way more possibilities however the settings are't so well organised inside. Probably will make more variants/rework it from scratch sometime.

Oh, those are really inspiring!

I have a bizarre abstract drawing that's been in progress for a year or so.  Haven't gotten back to is since the new computer odessy (sp?).  I might have to throw some of those filters into it.  With green, they might even work for abstract trees or bushes.

I'm curious how that would fit.
These are a bit heavy for rendering though, even if the basic idea was to give a better go both with this cloud and with this stardust one.

It is in plan to make vegetation filters, evolving from the soil.
It is a challenge with the current editor and with slow rendering to add in realism. Like the latest stone pack was using 11 flood fills and 16 turbulence filter primitives? And it'd be merely just an overlaying layer for a more complex texture with 3D shading and with more texture variations.

Well, I haven't actually installed and inspected how the filter is made.  But if the white part could be green, it might look look bushes or trees from a distance.

Agree with Brynn :-)

Lazur, what's the font you used for your signature?

Thank's!

It wasn't a font. Mocked some tibetan uchen script.
Can't recall the exact source so here is a large collection of beautiful calligraphy.

(On a side note I'm not too satisfied with that signature. Just couldn't get it better at the moment.)

I like it :) What a pity that it's not a font (yet ;-) ). I also love the detail of the frozen mist.
If I /were/ looking for something to criticize, then I'd say that there's a bit of depth missing in the crystal. It's something about the borders that makes it look a bit flatter than I think it's intended to be (but of course, I don't know - and I'm not looking, it's good!).
But the picture is among your best ones, for me, with all the details that you paid so much attention to, and with it telling a story. And then - doing something like this in Inkscape! It's amazing.

Oh, I just had a streak of inspiration.  It seems so real, I just had the urge to reach out and remove one of the chunks  :D

For Moini's comment about somewhat flat look, it could be just an ever so slight blur could help.  Extremely slight blur.  Or maybe slight shading around the outer edges of the whole heart.  Heck, you probably have a handy filter for that   :-D

Actually there was a layer of filter adding in a tint to the edge, but it's set to a light colour for a frosty effect -most noticeable where the top frost layer is transparent; top right or bottom left.
Planning to make variations on it and sharing the svg but without the background and the defocus filter because those are making it even more complicated if possible.
Since the background image was pulled in with an image filter primitive to the heart too.

So have to come up with a simple backround image first -something as simple as a linear gradient or stripes etc.

Recently looked at all the filter presets since I never got a track of them. Made test images, trying out every single one of the 292 on three objects -the test coffee maker, a small group, and another one with transparent fading gradiented edges.

-there are a total of 73 such collections. Would look out of proportion in a top to bottom ordering.

This is how they would look next to eachother:

heart prism -check source for svg:

-or if the rendering is too much on your machine (due to the background image had a filter applied), here is one wich should render easily:

OMG, Lazur!!  How long did it take to draw that first heart, the first time?  It looks like that should have taken days to draw it.  I'll have to get the SVG, to see how you did it.

If there's anything that doesn't work about those, it's the background white glow.  The white glow is in the middle of the page.  But I think would work better if it were behind, or almost behind the left lump of the heart.  That's because the biggest white glow in the heart is in the left lump.  And the red glow goes a little bit past the middle of the heart.  But in reality, the white glow should have pushed the red glow aside, if you know what I mean.

Now that's going to be the new front page image for the gallery!!  Would you mind uploading those 2 to the gallery?  I would put the first one on the front  page, but also have a link to the 2nd one, in case people can't see it, for some reason.  I see it just fine with Firefox, btw.

There was no white glow just a vignette effect with a similar filter above in the overlay pack. Background image can be changed to anything else, preferably to a photograph but openclipart can only take vectors so it wasn't an option.

Heart is the exact  same as it was with the frost, just removed half a dozen filters from it.

Drawing an overlapping Voronoi triangulation was the harder part -still not perfect, but was good for a start.
